For many of the young women we serve, basketball becomes the doorway to something much bigger—a college education, lifelong friendships, stronger self-confidence, healthier lifestyles, and the belief that their future has no limits.

Why We Exist

Too many talented young athletes never reach their full potential because of obstacles that have nothing to do with talent.

Some families cannot afford tournament fees.

Others struggle with transportation.

Some athletes have never met someone who attended college.

Others simply need positive mentors who believe in them.

At Delaware Shooting Stars, we believe where a child starts should never determine how far she can go.

We exist to provide every athlete—regardless of income or background—the opportunity to compete, learn, grow, and succeed.

Our mission also includes: 

• Serve our youth and their families with integrity and transparency. 

• Developing confident young women through basketball by fostering excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, character, and community service. 

• Encourage players to have respect for the game, others, and themselves. 

• Provide opportunities for youth to be active, healthy and engaged in the community

• Remove economic barriers for as many girls as possible through our scholarship/grant program (based on economic need).
