At Delaware Shooting Stars, our mission goes beyond winning games — it’s about creating real opportunities for our athletes. Through our AAU and travel basketball program, our players have had the chance to compete in high-level tournaments, play in front of college coaches, and showcase their talent on some of the biggest stages in girls’ basketball.

Over the years, many of our athletes have earned the opportunity to play at the collegiate level, turning their hard work and dedication into scholarships and roster spots at schools across the country. These experiences have opened doors to higher education that might not have been possible otherwise.

📊 The Numbers Behind the Opportunity

According to the NCAA:

• Fewer than 7% of high school girls basketball players go on to play at any collegiate level (NCAA, NAIA, or NJCAA).

• Only about 2% earn a spot on an NCAA Division I roster.

• However, for those who do make it to the college level, basketball can provide significant scholarship opportunities, reducing or even eliminating the cost of college education.
